Beauty Spotlight on Beyonce

Yes, I know this is not my regular makeup rant, however as a fellow BEYHIVE member, it wouldn't be right if I didn't share my thoughts on Bey's music, fashion and makeup fierceness! In the meantime, I'm going HAM on this unexpected, absolutely DOPE album that Beyonce dropped on us last night!

That's right! Bey mentioned in an interview about a month ago that she was working on her album but did not give any details as to when this album would be released. So you already know the BEYHIVE was buzzing like crazy!

Not only did this diva release 14 songs but 17 full videos with the hair laid honeyyy and the makeup is beyond flawless! You already know I was doing my dance!

Now it wouldn't be right to have a new Bey album without her Hubby Jay on the side. Not only was he featured on the song "Drunk in Love" but he co-produced the album with Bey along with  Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, Pharrell Williams, Drake, The-Dream, Sia, Miguel, Frank Ocean, Hit Boy, Ammo, Boots, Detail, Hype Williams, Terry Richardson, Melina Matsoukas, Jonas Åkerlund, Noah “40″ Shebib, and more.

I just can't get enough. Every time I listen to a new track on this album I'm blown away!

Yes, this girl is booty poppin all day!

So true!! Y'all don't even know!
So let's talk about the makeup!

Miss Third Ward is Beat to full capacity! This beat down definitely compliments her golden hair! But those pink lips though, perfection!

Oh Bey, How you make a silver smokey eye and vampy lips look oh so good! 😍

From a makeup artist point of view, this has to be my favorite look from the video "Blow." Neon and fluorescent shades on Queen Bey makes this look fun and edgy!

This album is scheduled to hit stores on December 21st! Just in time for a perfect stocking stuffer!

That's all for now! Stay tuned for part 2 where I'll break down some more looks from this amazing album and the makeup artists that made it happen!

Thanks for reading and stay flawless!

Rihanna hearts MAC 2013 Holiday Collection!

Yes, it's that time! The Rihanna Heart's MAC holiday collection is coming! Let's take a look to see which item's will be included in this collection.

I've gotta say, the packaging for this holiday release is my fav! Although I'm still in love with the metallic casing from the last release. ;)  Let's dive in to see what this release includes.

Lippies listed from L-R:
Bad Girl Riri
Pleasure Bomb
Riri Woo

The pigmentation for these shades are so rich. Just as the previous releases, this is a retro matte lipstick that will last for hours without any touch up needed.

Ah, finally a bronzer that is not a duo! Although I do love the previous release for the bronzer/blush duo, I'm happy to see that they've released just the bronzer. At $30.00 USD this is def a must to add to your Riri collection.

Veluxe Pearfusion Shadow Palette in "Phresh Out" I love the shades, as they are perfect for fall/winter. Priced at $44.00 USD these are another must to add to your collection.

 From L-R: Cockiness, Pisces Persuasion

Yes, yes and yes! These Superslick eyeliners are probably my fav since they are not only perfect for the holidays but the pigmentation on MAC's liners have been proven to last all day long. Plus the names alone, gotta love it.  Priced at $20.50USD each.

Last but not least, you know a collection is never complete without the perfect red nail polish.

Below is the complete list of items in this collection along with the prices. Rihanna's MAC Holiday collection is set to be available for purchase online and in MAC stores early December 2013. Exact date TBA.

Tips and tricks for the busy beauty!

I love sharing tips and tricks with all of my friends and clients. As a makeup professional, I'm always asked how to achieve a certain look?  Well I'm going to share some of those secrets and tips with you now!

Mascara: Every makeup artist has their own tips and tricks to applying makeup. One of my favorite tips is applying mascara, not just 1 but 2 coats. After you've applied your primers and foundation, apply 1 coat of mascara to your eyes. This will instantly open up your eyes as well. Once you've finished your eye makeup application, add another coat! Viola! Bold, dramatic lashes!

Lashes:  Do you ever apply your mascara and your lashes instantly clump up like this?

Before you add on that coat of mascara. Try soaking the entire pump in a warm cup of water for a couple minutes. This will loosen up the mascara inside to ensure that it glides on perfectly and then your lashes will look full and glamorous.

Foundation: Want to achieve a quick airbrushed look without having to buy any type of machine? Of course you do! Before you apply your foundation, make sure your face is primed and moisturized. Next, wet the the tip of a Kabuki Brush, shown below and dip it into some liquid foundation;

I like to call this next step the sponge effect. Tap the foundation onto your forehead, checks, chin (T-Zone areas) and swirl it around until all areas are almost completely covered.  Next, take a sponge (shown below) and pat over the areas that you want to add more coverage to. This will give you a light coverage and airbrushed looked

Blush: I love applying blush last, it gives you that extra glow and truly finishes off your look. Best thing I've learned as an artist is that the golden rule for applying blush is it changes per facial structure. Check out this awesome chart below for some great tips:

Lips: With the fall and winter weather our skin and lips become extra dry this time of year. Exfoliation is key and you can do this to your lips with a toothbrush. Add a little coconut oil and sugar in a cap and apply this to your lips daily in a circular motion  Doing this before applying your lip balm and lipstick will make your lips extra soft and smooth and it's perfect to do right before applying that matte lippie.

Eyes: Before applying your liner, open up your eyes instantly with a white eye pencil and line it on the bottom of your waterline. This is perfect for those days when you're lacking extra sleep as well. Also, to give your eyebrows more of an arch, apply a light pink matte liner under your brow and blend, blend, blend it in please. You don't want to look like this:

Eyebrows: Not everyone looks great with a square brow. Lets turn those bad brows from this:

  To this:

Here's a little chart that may better assist you with arching those brows:

That's all for now beauties! Feel free to comment below and share some of your fav beauty tips!

Until next time, stay beautiful!
